Ponds

Whether you want a pond with fish and plants or you want the relaxing sound of water only, Evergreen Landscaping can deliver. We can design a pond to fit any landscape and budget using the right equipment. The best pond designs mimic nature, which means encouraging a naturally balanced living system. This can be done by using the properly sized skimmer filter and pump for your pond size. A skimmer filter collects debris, cleans water and hides the pump. The size of the pump must be large enough to adequately move all of the water in the pond, which is only one step in maintaining a healthy pond. Special consideration must be taken when fish or plant life is being introduced since they affect the ecosystem of your pond in many ways. Our experienced installers can ensure that all the proper equipment is used to ensure that you will be enjoying your pond for years to come.

Waterfalls

Waterfalls offer additional sound of running water to your pond. Whether they are added to an already existing pond or are a completely new construction, proper integration is important. Special consideration must be used when designing the location and size of your waterfall. Pump size, again, is crucial. Making sure that your pump is powerful enough to achieve the type of water flow that is desired is extremely important; the most beautiful manmade waterfall will lose its appeal quickly if there is no water flowing down it!

Pondless Water Features

Pondless water features have hit the landscape community with force. You can enjoy the sound and beauty of a waterfall at home without the hazard and upkeep of a pond. Perfect for applications where children will be playing, where there isn't enough room for a pond, and most importantly, maintenance is a concern. A pondless water feature is virtually maintenance free. The only maintenance involved is refilling the reservoir every couple of weeks, but even this step can be eliminated by adding an auto fill!

Breakdown of a Pondless Waterfall

There are two basic parts to a pondless water feature. The first part, the hidden reservoir, contains the catch basin, pump, and tubing. This is also where the water is stored when the system is turned off, ultimately requiring it to be the lowest point in the system. The catch basin is where the pump is housed, keeping it safe from rocks and debris. After surrounding the basin with rocks, it becomes an invisible, yet crucial, part of the system.
The second, visible portion consists of the waterfall spillway and stones. This part provides the aesthetic side of the water feature. The waterfall spillway is what creates the waterfall look. The pump pushes the water from the well, through a hose to the top of the falls over the spillway. Care is taken to ensure that the overall look is as natural as it can be.
